Because my characters aren't the size or width of Barbie and Ken dolls I had to do some adjusting to the clothes. The legs on all trousers or jeans were cut to a more suitable length and then sewn back up so they weren't fraying or coming apart. I also did this to the sleeves on the tops and the bottom half of the tops so that they weren't too long. The hood on Sam's jumper kept getting in the way so I sewed this to the back of the hoody so it wouldn't keep moving up.
After sewing up some of the trousers I realised that the thread was showing quite a bit as the colour didn't match, so to keep continuity between the clothes I bought multiple colours of threads and re-sewed the items with the wrong thread. This worked really well and meant that in my film they wouldn't show or stand out and make the clothes look odd.
